PhD Research Assistant Positions in Ultrafast Optics & Condensed Matter Physics

We invite applications for PhD student Research Assistant positions in the field of ultrafast optics and condensed matter physics. The successful candidates will join a dynamic research environment focused on exploring transient phenomena and nonlinear response in strongly correlated systems, including spin liquids, strange metals, and quantum critical materials.

The project emphasizes the use of nonlinear THz spectroscopy and advanced laser techniques to probe complex physical behavior. Responsibilities will include the design and implementation of ultrafast nonlinear optical experiments, operation of state-of-the-art laser systems, and the analysis of time-resolved spectroscopic data.

This is an excellent opportunity for motivated students with a strong interest in experimental physics and a desire to work at the frontiers of quantum materials research.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in physics or a closely related field, with strong academic performance.
  • A solid background in condensed matter physics and/or optics.
  • Prior experience in an experimental optics laboratory—particularly involving infrared or THz techniques—is a strong plus.
